As a child I had an affinity with horses and spent many summers trail riding and hanging out at various horse farms. Although never far from my heart, I moved away from this passion as I pursued university studies and eventually a career as a clinical social worker and university professor.  Recently I have brought together my two passions; helping people heal and working with the wisdom of horses.

As a clinical social worker for over two decades, I bring an expertise in the treatment of trauma, relational violence, addictions, anxiety and post-traumatic stress to my work in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy.   I see nonjudgmental relationships and a balanced connection between body, mind, spirit and the environment as essential for fostering health and wellbeing.

The sensitivity and perceptiveness of horses facilitate connection to intuition and body and help cultivate a mindful presence with self, others, and the world around us. Connecting with the exquisite sensitivities of horses opens up a powerful space of healing in which wounds and silences can be transformed and authenticity can be uncovered.
